However some of us lack the motivation to actually start and maintain an exercise routine. Achieving this motivation is an important quality we need in our lifestyles. It gives us the burning sensation within to be ambitious and take interest in the things we do. Once we have this driving force we realize we are capable of achieving anything we put our minds to. It is important we think positive about our goals and not let negative thoughts drift us away from our potential. So I encourage you to get motivated. It will truly help you meet all your goals.

When it comes to maintaining your exercise routine a fitness plan is essential. There are no short cuts when achieving your fitness goals. These are 6 steps to a good fitness plan:

1. measure your starting point
2. define your goals
3. start fitness training
4. assess your current point
5. reward yourself for achieved goals
6. set new goals

Completion of the above recipe will guarantee you see the results you have always wanted.

Measure your starting point: It is imperative that once starting a fitness program we first analyze our initial state. This is so we can monitor our progress throughout the program. Record your current weight and depending on whether you want to increase/reduce size of your waist, arms, legs etc measure their circumference.

Define your goals: Determine the desired weight you wish to achieve and a realistic date to accomplish it. By having a date set it will keep you motivated and push you further to reach the goal.

Start fitness training: This is where you prove to yourself that with dedication you will reach your fitness goals. Refer to choosing the perfect fitness program on selecting the best suited training program for you. Ensure you ease into your program by giving yourself plenty of days rest. As your fitness level rises you increase your workout.

Assess your current point: After every week I recommend to analyze your current state as per step 1. This will prove that your dedication is paying off or whether you have to increase/change your workout program. This step is important to boosting your confidence in reaching those goals.

Reward yourself for achieved goals: You are putting effort into your fitness program and it is only fair that you give yourself a payment for your work. Setting a reward for achieved goals will keep you motivated on the task and ready for the next. Some examples are having a pair of jeans or shirt you would like to fit into, getting into that bathing suit or even just buying yourself a present.

Set new goals: It is important to keep setting new goals as this stimulates motivation for fitness training. If your have achieved your weight/size goals then you could aim to increase your running stamina or be able to play in a team of your favorite sport. Whatever your new goals maybe it will always guarantee you will keep fit and healthy.
